It’s funny what one little wire can do, when it’s purpose is grounding. A buzzy troublesome connection becomes quiet and sublime. Similarly, it can take one single thread of consciousness to tether your unconscious. After getting back on track, this time through things are grounded.

After falling off updates for some months, we get right back on track with the live mix portion of a recent House Therapy session on 88.1FM WMBR. This set was inspired by the good taste and positive influence of Titonton Duvante.
Please note there are slight audio anomalies in the very beginning of the recording and stereo will kick in eventually and remain throughout the hour set.

It’s always a pleasure to cover Thao’s show, N.E.S. and try to sing my songs in her key. That is if you can put a scream in a key. That’s probably the point here, there, and everywhere in this set. Just check the playlist if that’s not confusing enough. Better yet, have a listen, here’s the whole show.

November stood waiting for an outbound train while December rolled up by bus. The change of seasons hung in the air like a thick fog as heavy as wool blankets. Pressed lips and poised eyes garnished the inconsequence. For only those two standing was there an affirmation of the night’s not so subtle importance.

Always a pleasure to play on (or near) the full moon, as there’s usually a notable amplification of energy in effect. Exciting phone calls, a crazed door bell ringing drunken visitor, you plan for the unexpected so that when it comes, you can just go with the flow. For a change, this show is being presented uninterrupted and in it’s entirety. I hope you can enjoy it as such.

Another 8-9PM Night Owl session for WMBR 88.1FM on All Hallows’ Eve no less, so for sure a set of songs leaning on the darker sounds were presented, including a triumvirate of songs from my good friends of the former Kommando 6 label; Dystronic, Beta Evers, and Black Spider Clan. Slip on your best costume and slide into the darkness of Blackout.

With less then 1 week to prepare for 4 hours of radio, a call for help was placed to Ann Arbor resident Beattrix for programming assistance. He graciously conjured up tracks to provide for the first hour of Nonstop. Ecstatic. Screaming. The results were, as expected from the seasoned music enthusiast, tightly selected and deftly programmed. The second hour is comprised of selections featuring ecstatic screaming by some of my favorite 80’s bands.
