The Summer Schedule for WMBR 88.1FM kicked off this week with House Therapy keeping its Thursday 10 to Midnight slot. This particular show was inspired by the recent Detroit Electronic Music Festival (aka Movement 2008) and features artists and music with the sound and spirit of the festival. During the setup time a portion of the Metropolis mix was aired and following that was the live mix using Torq software and Ms. Pinky vinyl control. The show concludes with a batch of unmixed current favorites and a final closing classic by the Clash.

Here comes another 10pm to 12midnight sub-edition of House Therapy on 88.1FM WMBR. The show starts (and ends!) with a throw back slow and low burner, Diep’s edit of UB40′s aching “Don’t Break My Heart”. The unplanned mix selection moves through the old and the new, the structured and unstructured and vocal as well as instrumental. As my dad would say, a little of everything and not too much of anything.

A first time covering Thao’s fine 2 hour show, Nonstop. Ecstatic. Screaming. airing 8-10PM Thursday’s on 88.1FM WMBR. The show starts with a rebroadcast of a 2 year old blended set titled “Club Silencio”, originally produced as part of the Thirst series airing on Welt-Am-Draht internet radio each and every Third Thursday of the month. The mix features countless clips and samples from Mulholland Drive including Rebekah Del Rio’s dramatic performance of Llorando.
Following that the second hour featured on-air moderation and selection of some current favorites. Keeping on the David Lynch theme, towards the end of this set, there is the full length recording of the dramatic and amazing “Polish Poem” by Lynch and Chrysta Bell as culled from Inland Empire.

There’s always a first time for anything and this time it was sub-covering “The Show Show” 8-9PM on WMBR 88.1FM in Cambridge. I chose not to stray too far from the usual show format and even tried using the in studio CD’s to pitch control out a console mix (not!).
Following that, Nite Owl (9-10PM) featured yet another interview session with the Boston Derby Dames. This time joined by 2 Boston Massacre and 2 Boston B-Party skaters and 1 referee!
